Infertility is also known as sterility and means the inability to conceive after trying for one year. Infertility extends beyond the inability to conceive to the inability to carry a pregnancy to term.
Women over the age of thirty who try unsuccessfully to conceive after six months are candidates for infertility treatments.
Women are not the only infertile humans: They represent one third. One third of all infertile couples can cite the man. The final third is a combination of both partners or completely unexplained.
